God’s covenant (promise) to Abraham was that through his descendants everyone on earth would be blessed. They were known as the Israelites, they were God’s people, and they would be the example for the rest of the world. According to the bible Genesis 17:7, “7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee and to thy seed after thee”. (Bible, Genesis 17.) Based on God’s promise when the Israelites were enslaved, he sent Moses to free them which was the exodus (exit) According to the bible Exodus 3:11, “11 And Moses said unto God, who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (Bible, Exodus 3:11).
